Virtus.pro have secured third place at WESG 2016 World Finals and $200,000 in prizemoney with a straightforward 2-0 victory against Space Soldiers (Cobblestone 16-8, Nuke 16-6). After Kinguin defeated Virtus.pro in two maps and Space Soldiers fell short against Envy in the semi-finals, it was time for the third-place decider, which had a $140,000 increase in prizemoney on the line. Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and company began with a close first half on Cobblestone, securing eight rounds on the Terrorist side. Virtus.pro then made short work of the Turks, only conceding one round in the second half on their way to a 16-8 victory.
The second map, Nuke, was a very similar affair, as the Poles picked up a 9-6 scoreline on the favored CT side. After switching over to the offense, they won seven rounds in a row for third place at WESG and a $200,000 cheque. WESG 2016 World FinalsBest of 3![]() ![]()
